    Our Matcha bowl "UZUSHIO" is fully glazed ceramic bowl made in Japan. It is an essential tool for creating a great cup of Matcha tea each morning. So get ready for the day!

    "Uzushio" means whirlpool in Japanese, so we expect you to whisk as fast as whirlpool :)

    Other essentials for making matcha tea are:
    "A chasen" which is a tea whisk made from a single piece of bamboo.
    "A Chashaku" which is a bamboo tea ladle used for scooping powdered tea/Matcha into a teabowl.

Inside Story

How to whisk like a PRO!

1) Heat the Chawan (bowl) and the Chasen (A chasen is a tea whisk made from a single piece of bamboo) with very hot water, discard the water after about 1 min.

2) Sift 1-2 tsp of Matcha tea through a fairly fine strainer - this creates smoother foam and prevents lumping.

3) Pour roughly 60 ml of 75 C water over the tea and whisk (from bottom to top in "W" - like motion) when the foam begins to form, raise the whisk carefully.
